Summer in Berlin!

Olá! Que tal estes dias de calor? Aqui na cidade, também se aproveita o Verão e não seestá nada mal!

Alguns meses atrás, pensava que o Verão aqui em Berlim seria super aborrecido... longe do mar, sem temperaturas muito altas, poucos dias de sol, enquanto metade do mundo se divertia. 

A verdade é que me enganei e o tempo tem sido uma boa surpresa, com temperaturas em torno dos 27 graus e solinho quase sempre! Além de que, percebi que não sou a única pessoa que gosta de Verão nesta cidade, existem imensos sitios que se transformam em mini praias, esplanadas, espaços lounge, seja no centro ou na periferia.

Berlin está rodeado por vários lagos com pequenas praias, mas quem preferir também pode ir até as piscinas no centro. Como não gosto muito de tomar banho nos lagos, decidi procurar uma piscina e foi assim que descobri este sitio fantástico. Obriguei logo o meu namorado a vestir os calções de banho e fomos!

A piscina Haubentaucher fica junto a estação Warschauer Strasse, muito perto do centro e também funciona como um bar / discoteca à noite. Dentro, há áreas com mesas e bancos com sombra, sofás confortáveis, espreguiçadeiras, e cadeiras de praia para colocarmos onde quisermos, também tem chuveiros, um bar, restaurante e caixa multibanco. A entrada é 5‎€ e está aberto das 12,00h o 00.00h durante a semana e das 10,30h para 04,00h ao fim de semana.

Este sitio acaba por ser um pequeno paraíso dentro da cidade, onde podemos relaxar ao som de boa música num ambiente muito cool.

Então, se passarem por Berlim ou estiverem por aqui sem ideias do que fazer, esta pode ser uma boa sugestão!

Hello! How about these hot days? Here in the city, we enjoy the Summer as well and is not that bad!

A few months ago I thought the Summer here in Berlin would be super boring... far away from the sea, without very high temperatures, just a few sunny days, while half of the world was having fun.

The truth is that I was wrong and the weather has been a good surprise, with temperatures around 27 degrees and sunny most of the days! Besides that I realized I'm not the only person who likes Summer in this city, there are plenty of places that turn into mini  beaches, terraces, lounge spaces, either in the center or on the outskirts.

Berlin is surrounded by several lakes with small beaches but who prefer can also go to the pools in the center. As I don't like much to swim in the lakes, I decided to look for a pool and that's how I discovered this amazing place. Straight away I told my boyfriend to dress the swimming shorts and we went there.

The Haubentaucher pool is just next to the station of Warschauer Strasse, very close to the center and also works as a bar / disco at night. Inside there are areas with tables and benches on the shadow, comfortable sofas, sunbeds, and beach chairs that we can put where we want, there are also showers, a bar, restaurant and ATM. Admission is 5‎€ and is open from 12,00h the 00.00h during the week and from 10,30h to 04,00h at the weekend.

This place turns out to be a little paradise within the city, where we can relax to the sound of good music in a very cool environment.

So if you are coming to Berlin or you are already here but without ideas of what to do, this can be a good suggestion!

Travel tips: weekend in Oslo

Algumas semanas atrás fui a Oslo passar o fim de semana com meu namorado. Foi ótimo e se acham que passar o fim de semana na cidade não é o melhor para relaxar, esta vai fazer-vos mudar de ideias. Voamos desde Berlin SXF para Oslo Gardermoen com a Norwegian, no aeroporto apanhamos um autocarro da empresa Flybussen que nos deixou muito perto do nosso hotel.

A few weeks ago I went to Oslo for the weekend with my boyfriend. It was really great, and if you think that city getaways are not the best to relax, this one will make you change your mind.
We flew form Berlin SXF to Oslo Gardermoen with Norwegian, from the airport took a bus from the company Flybussen that drooped us very close to our hotel.

Cerca de dois meses antes estávamos à procura de lugares para ficar, e o meu primo recomendou-nos este, Smarthotel Oslo, foi uma boa opção, considerando que Oslo é uma cidade muito cara, pagamos aproximadamente 70€ por um quarto duplo, por noite. Este é o tipo de hotéis modernos, simples, que tem o necessário para alguns dias, muito limpo e com uma bela vista para a cidade a partir de sua varanda. Fizemos a reserva diretamente do site. Assim que chegamos depois do check in saímos para explorar a cidade.

About two months before we were searching for places to stay, and my cousin recommended me this one, SmartHotel Oslo, was a good deal, considering that Oslo it's a quite expensive city, we payed around 70€  for a double room per night, is this kind of simple modern hotels that has the necessary that you need for a few days,very clean and with a beautiful view for the city from their terrace. We book it directly from their website. 
As soon as we got there after checking in we went out to explore the city.

Oslo é um lugar encantador e quase nos esquecemos que na verdade estamos  na capital da Noruega, quando passeamos pelo centro e toda a gente parece tão relaxada, sem multidões, sem pressa, sem transito. Uma coisa que me surpreendeu é que a maioria dos carros são elétricos por isso não fazem quase barulho nenhum, acho que é por isso que a cidade parece tão sossegada.
Fomos a pé do Museu de História até a estação, passamos pela "Casa da Opera", um edifício moderno sobre a água, super bonito, atravessamos a fortaleza até o pequeno porto, no centro, onde se pode apanhar alguns barcos pequenos de cruzeiro e os barcos de travessia ate Bygdøy, como o Bygdøyfergene, para a zona dos museus.

Oslo is a very charming place and we almost forget is actually the capital of Norway, when we stroll around the center and everyone seems so relax, no crowd, no rush, no traffic. One thing that surprised me is that the majority of the cars are electric so they make no sound, I guess that's why the city seems so quiet.
we went walking from the History Museum till the station, passed by the Opera house, a beautiful modern building over the water, crossed the Fortress till the small harbor in the center were you can catch some small cruise boats and the transfer boats like the Bygdøyfergene to the museums.

Ao longo do porto, há uma rua cheia de restaurantes e cafes de frente para água que leva ao museu Fearnley  Astrup, um moderno edifício de arquitectura, com galerias de arte e exposições de arte moderna.

Along the harbor there is a street full of restaurants and coffees in front of the water that leads to the Astrup Fearnley Museum, a modern architecture building, with art galleries and modern art exhibitions.

No dia seguinte, compramos o Oslo Pass no Hotel, esta é uma opção muito boa porque dá entrada gratuita na maioria dos museus e transporte gratuito no centro, incluindo o barco para Bygdøy,  pode-se ter ainda alguns descontos em lojas e restaurantes e vem com um livro com todas as informações, mais um mapa.
Nós dirigimo-nos  então ate ao porto para apanhar o barco para a área de museus.

On the next day we bought the Oslo Pass in the Hotel, this is a very good option because gives you free entrance in most of the museums and free transport in the center, including the boat to Bygdøy, you can have as well some discounts in shops and restaurants, it comes with a book with all the info plus a map.

Ali podemos encontrar o Norsk Folkmuseum (o meu favorito), onde  tem um espaço interior com uma vasta coleção de artigos que mostram como viveu o povo norueguês desde os tempos antigos e uma grande área ao ar livre com todas as casas de cada região da Noruega. Vale a pena andar pelo parque e explorar cada recanto.

Em algumas das casas podemos encontrar pessoas com vestidos tradicionais e nos meses de Verão há espectáculos de folclore.

There you can find the Folk Museum (my favorite), there is a indoor space with a wide collection of articles that show how Norwegian people lived since the ancient times, and a big outdoor area with all the houses from each region of Norway. Just stroll around the park and explore it by yourself.
In some of them you find people with traditional dresses and in the summer months there are folklore shows.

Depois de visitar o Folkmuseum fomos ate ao museu Viking, onde existem três navios vikings reconstruídos, entre outros objetos que foram transportadas em navios.

After visiting the Folk museum we went to the Viking museum, where you will see three Viking ships, among other objects that were carried in the ships.

No outro lado do distrito de Bygdøy, está o Museu Kon-tiki, sobre o explorador norueguês que atravessou o oceano Pacífico numa jangada construída por ele, o Museu Fram, sobre o navio Fram que fez uma expedição ao Pólo Norte , e o museu  marítimo.

Mais tarde, à noite, ainda houve tempo para caminhar no centro, pelos  jardins que rodeiam o Palácio Real ea maioria das embaixadas.

In the other side of the Bygdøy area, you have the Kon-tiki Museum, about the Norwegian explorer that crossed the Pacific ocean in a raft built by him, the Fram Museum, about the Polar ship Fram that made an expedition to the north pole, and the Norwegiuan Maritime museum.

Later on at night, there was still time to walk in the center and around the gardens that surround the Royal palace and most of the embassies.

Foi um excelente fim de semana e Copenhaga e Estocolmo estão agora na lista como as próximas capitais a serem visitadas.

Was a great weekend and Copenhagen and Stockolm are now on the list as the next capitals to be visited.
